1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you create and use an account, including your email address, name, anonymous username, reviews, ratings, follows, reports, support requests, and other information you choose to submit.
We may also collect basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device, browser, network, authentication, and activity information.
2. Anonymous usernames
Reviews are displayed publicly using an anonymous username rather than your real name. An anonymous username does not mean the account is anonymous to Locker Room.
We may keep account information connected to your activity for authentication, moderation, abuse prevention, security, support, and other operational purposes.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- display reviews, ratings, and other platform activity;
- provide following, notification, and support features;
- detect spam, fraud, manipulation, and other abuse;
- investigate reports and enforce our rules;
- secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
- comply with legal obligations and protect users and the platform.
4. Information visible to others
Content you submit may be visible to other users. This can include your anonymous username, reviews, ratings, reviewer type, teams, coaches, leagues, seasons, and related review activity.
Do not include private or sensitive personal information in a review or other public content.
5. Moderation and reports
When content is reported or otherwise reviewed for moderation, we may examine the content, report details, related account information, and other information reasonably necessary to investigate the issue and enforce our rules.
6. Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate Locker Room, including services for database hosting, authentication, application hosting, email delivery, security, and other infrastructure.
These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
7. Account deletion and retained content
You can delete your account from within the app. When you delete your account, personal account information associated with that account is removed or disconnected as described by the service.
Reviews you previously submitted may remain so that historical review and rating information is not removed solely because an account was deleted. Those reviews are detached from the deleted account and shown under the name "Deleted User."
Certain non-account activity, such as a helpful mark attached to a review, may also remain in anonymized or detached form.
8. Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, protect the platform, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, comply with legal requirements, and preserve legitimate historical review information.
Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information and why it is needed.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no online service or method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your password, verification codes, and access to your account.
10. Your choices
Depending on the feature, you may be able to update account information, change your anonymous username subject to platform rules, manage follows and notifications, edit eligible reviews, or delete your account.
You may also contact us through the Support page with questions about your account or personal information.
11. Children and younger users
Locker Room is not intended to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Because junior hockey can include younger players, users should avoid sharing a minor's private personal information in reviews or other public content.
If you believe personal information about a child has been submitted improperly, contact us through the Support page so we can review it.
12. Legal requests and safety
We may preserve, access, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse or security incidents, protect rights and safety, or enforce our agreements.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Locker Room changes. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app or another reasonable method.
14. Contact
Questions or requests about privacy can be submitted through the Contact Support page in Locker Room.
